Question And Answer Session With Our Speakers

Question And Answer Session With Our Speakers

Durham, NC, USA-On September 9, 2015 our second day event was hosted by the Triangle Family church in Durham, NC, who provided a free warm breakfast. There were 34 guests.

The quiche was made by one of our great women cooks and the other food donations were from American Clergy Leadership members supported from the Food Bank of Winston Salem.

Our sponsors were: Universal Peace Federation, ACLC, and Triangle Family Church.

Among the speakers were Mark Siljander, the author of: “A Deadly Misunderstanding”, who was the key note speaker; Richard de Sena, President of UPF in North America; and Cathryn Teer, representing the American Clergy Coalition of NC.

Mr. Siljandar spoke about the similarities between the Moslem Holy Book, the Quran, and the Bible. He also discussed about the limitations of politics being able to solve world problems.

Mr. de Sena, who traveled all the way from New York City to North Carolina, gave a hopeful presentation addressing the five “Universal Peace Principles” for lasting peace. He shared about his experiences, growing up as a boy in Argentina, being a radical atheist and how he changed his life centered on God.

Mrs. Teer spoke about the Coalition of Churches and people of different faiths working together for Peace.

Also we had Bishop Christenson from “The Church of Jesus Christ and the Latter – Day Saints” who talked about their project to help The African Family reclaim their genealogy and find their lost families.

On this occasion three new Ambassadors for Peace were appointed: Deborah Wilson, Betty Merkerson and Rose Bonner.

On Behalf of UPF of America I want to thank all our volunteers for helping make this a successful event for all people.
