True Family Values in Action: A New Year of Hope Begins in Chicago
The 25th True Family Values (TFV) Awards Prayer Luncheon was held in Chicago at the historic Cosmopolitan Community Church, located on the city’s South Side. Founded more than 100 years ago by the African American community, the church has long been a place of faith and fellowship. Under the leadership of Dr. Eric D. Clopton, now in his tenth year as senior pastor, the congregation has shared many meaningful moments with ACLC, including numerous Prayer Breakfasts over the years.
Members of the Chicago ACLC and Family Federation gathered to warmly welcome Dr. and Mrs. Achille Acolatse, marking their first visit to Chicago since Dr. Achille’s appointment as the new ACLC National Chairman. Dr. Achille delivered a keynote address perfectly suited to the occasion, weaving together biblical reflections on Jesus, an inspiring explanation of True Family Values, and heartfelt expressions of love for his wife—shared with joyful affection that delighted all in attendance.
The program was strongly supported by Dr. Ki Hoon Kim, WCLC Chairman, who encouraged the Chicago community in bringing this milestone 25th TFV Awards ceremony to fruition. Together with his wife, Dr. Kim exemplified the loving heart of True Parents. During the luncheon, he presented three TFV plaques honoring recipients who have made a meaningful difference in their communities, each sharing remarkable testimonies of service. In addition, several prominent clergy leaders were appointed as Ambassadors for Peace, joyfully receiving this honor and deepening their connection with UPF.
Min. Dr. Reiko Jenkins, representing the National ACLC Women in Ministry, offered special appreciation to the Chicago Women in Ministry team, acknowledging their dedication and teamwork. Despite cold temperatures and challenging wind conditions, the event unfolded smoothly and joyfully, allowing participants to begin the New Year with renewed hope, strengthened relationships, and a deeper connection to Heavenly Parent and Holy Mother Han.
Sincere gratitude is extended to all who contributed to the success of this program, including Rev. Kazuo Takami, Rev. Hebangja Kisile, Rev. Kunihiro Sagisaka, Dr. Willie Weston, Rev. Cornelius Clark, Saint Thomas Barrett, Dr. Madeline Alexander and her husband from Indiana, and the many others whose support and service made this celebration truly memorable.
